I Know You Know What I Know… is a collection of unfinished songs, covers, unreleased production demos, b-sides and sketches from every era of husband&wife’s 10 year existence. It’s over one and a half hours of previously unreleased music, plus 26 pages of detailed liner notes and rarely seen photos collected on one cassette tape+digital download.

This collection is raw and unrefined. It has been gathered from the margins of husband&wife’s creative output – in some ways showcasing them at their most emotional, jagged and experimental.

Side A plays out like the best rainy-day album the band never made. Some of the jams and improvisations culled together from the remnants of their ill-fated final album show the band heading in a somber, contemplative direction, full of questions and previously unexplored expansive sonic territory. A part of listening to these demos and sketches feels like being a fly on the wall as the band worked diligently, hopefully, and unknowingly into their final departure and growing separate muses.

Side B kicks off with some exuberance and shines the light on a completely different side of husband&wife, opening with finished-but-discarded songs that were too loud, too fast, and too wild for the band’s fast, loud, and wild album, “Proud Flesh” before moving into more familiar realms.

As a bonus, every tape and full-album download comes with a 26-page PDF file of extensive liner notes detailing the recording processes, ideas behind, and reasons for holding onto these previously unheard songs. Not only that, but every page also includes a rare photo from the band’s early days, complete with detailed captions and stories behind each photograph.

Only 100 tapes were made, so don’t drag your feet on this one. Digital versions will exist ad infinitum.
